Dr. Linda Ama Owusuaa Amoah
About me
Dr. Linda Ama Owusuaa Amoah is a Ghanaian research scientist at CSIR-Animal Research Institute, specializing in zoonoses and neglected tropical diseases through the One Health lens. With a PhD in Applied Parasitology from the University of Ghana, she has published widely on host–pathogen interactions and continues to spearhead awareness campaigns on zoonoses among schoolchildren in Ghana. A recipient of the Carnegie BANGA-Africa award, she is also an active scientific leader at CSIR, committed to bridging science and policy to advance sustainable health solutions and empower communities across endemic regions.
Dr Linda Ama Owusuaa Amoah is a prolific research scientist at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research – Animal Research Institute (CSIR-ARI), Ghana. She holds a PhD in Applied Parasitology from the University of Ghana, where her doctoral work examined zoonotic transmission across the human-domestic-wildlife interface. Her research focuses on parasitology, neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), zoonoses, and host–pathogen interactions, guided by the One Health framework, which integrates human, animal, and environmental health. From 2013 to 2017, she served as a Graduate Assistant and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Animal Biology and Conservation Science at the University of Ghana. Following that, she joined Maklins Research and Solutions Ltd on a demand basis, a private research firm, where she honed her skills in social research.
Dr Amoah has published widely on topics including Babesiosis, toxocariasis, schistosomiasis, and microbial contamination of biodigester effluents. Dr Amoah has received competitive grants and sponsorships, including the Carnegie Corporation of New York’s BANGA-Africa award, and has trained extensively in publishing, open science and grant writing.
Beyond her research, she contributes to scientific leadership at CSIR-ARI, serving as Chair of the Scientific Seminar Committee and Vice Secretary and Secretary of the Research Staff Association. Passionate about bridging science and policy, she is committed to advancing sustainable health solutions and empowering communities in endemic regions across Africa.
