About me
I am a computer scientist and lecturer specializing in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and AI System Security. I hold a First Class B.Sc. (Honours) in Computer Science and is currently pursuing an M.Phil. in Computer Science at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. My research focuses on Large Language Models and secure AI systems, and I have published in peer-reviewed journals. I am an awardee of the Virtusa Gold Medal for academic excellence and is actively involved in teaching, research, and academic mentoring.
I am a Sri Lankan academic and researcher in Computer Science with expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Large Language Models, and AI System Security. I obtained my Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computer Science with First Class from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, achieving the highest GPA in my batch and receiving the Virtusa Gold Medal for academic excellence. I am currently pursuing a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Computer Science at the same university, where my research focuses on Large Language Models with applications in AI system security.
I serve as a Lecturer (Probationary) at the Faculty of Computing, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and also work as a Visiting Lecturer in multiple faculties, teaching courses in Operating Systems, Computer Graphics, Database Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Human-Computer Interaction, and Statistical Distributions. I have previously served as an Assistant Lecturer and Teaching Assistant, contributing extensively to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, curriculum delivery, and student supervision.
My research experience includes collaborative interdisciplinary projects in machine learning and polymer science, reinforcement learning optimization, and natural language processing-based chatbot development.I have published peer-reviewed journal articles in the Vidyodaya Journal of Science and have worked on applied machine learning projects such as robotic navigation systems, emotion detection, healthcare forecasting, and assistive robotics.
In addition to my academic career, I have industry experience as a Software Engineer Intern and Research Engineer Trainee, working with modern web technologies and machine learning systems. I am a member of IEEE and the Sri Lanka Association for Artificial Intelligence (SLAAI), and actively contributes to research, teaching, and academic service aimed at advancing inclusive and responsible AI development.
