Mayra L. Díaz-Sosa

About me

Dr. Mayra Lorena Díaz Sosa is a Full-Time Tenured Professor at the Faculty of Higher Studies (FES) Acatlán, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She holds a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in Computer Science, a B.S. in Actuarial Science, and a Specialization in Digital Technology for Mathematics Teaching from UNAM. Her research focuses on educational technology, applied mathematics, and artificial intelligence in STEM education. She is currently the Principal Investigator for the UNAM-PAPIME PE312826 project on STACK and autonomous learning in mathematics, and has completed an international research stay at the University of Cantabria, Spain.

Dr. Mayra Lorena Díaz Sosa is a Full-Time Tenured Professor in the Actuarial Science Department at FES Acatlán, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science (awarded with honors), a Master’s degree in Computer Science (awarded with honors), a Ph.D. in Computer Science, and a Specialization in Digital Technology for Mathematics Teaching (awarded with honors), all from UNAM. She also completed a postdoctoral research stay at UNAM and an international research stay at the University of Cantabria, Spain, supported by DGAPA. Her academic work centers on applied mathematics, educational technology, learning management systems, and the integration of artificial intelligence tools in higher education. She was a founding member and academic coordinator of the Specialization in Digital Technology for Mathematics Teaching (TeDiEM) at FES Acatlán. Currently, she serves as the Principal Investigator for the PAPIME PE312826 project focused on automated assessment and autonomous learning in mathematics using STACK and Moodle. Dr. Díaz Sosa has authored and co-authored scientific articles, book chapters, and interactive educational resources. She holds the PRIDE Level C distinction at UNAM and actively contributes to teacher training, thesis advising, and initiatives promoting women's leadership in STEM fields.
