About me

Mizinga Jacqueline Tembo is a Zambian laboratory and research scientist specializing in immunology, virology, and infectious diseases. She holds a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Zambia and an MSc in Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She works at the Center for Family Health Research in Zambia (CFHRZ) as a Laboratory Scientist and QA/QC Manager, supporting HIV and TB clinical trials and research. Her expertise includes PCR, ELISpot, flow cytometry, multiplex ELISA, gene sequencing, and immunofluorescence. She has contributed to studies on HIV viral evolution and on the impact of vitamin D on immune responses in adolescents living with HIV.

Her work involves molecular and immunological assays, including PCR, ELISpot, flow cytometry, multiplex ELISA, gene sequencing, and immunofluorescence, as well as ensuring compliance with laboratory quality standards.

Mizinga has contributed to studies on HIV viral evolution and transmission, with hands-on experience in amplification, sequencing, and analysis of viral genetic material. She has also contributed to research investigating the impact of vitamin D on immune responses in adolescents living with HIV.

She is also interested in academic teaching and is preparing for doctoral studies focused on strengthening public health research and infectious disease immunology in Zambia.
