Olutayo holds a Ph. D in Political Science from the University of Ibadan. She is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan. She currently teaches in and coordinates the Gender Studies programme of the institute. Her research and teaching interest surrounds gender and development studies, research methodology and political economy. Having undertaken various researches, Olutayo’s work speaks to transformation in contemporary gender discourse. She has published in reputable journals including African Notes and African Development and has been in WAFIRA programmes since 2014. She just completed a Pilot study investigating “Gender and Career in Higher Education in Nigeria/Ghana: A Labyrinth” .fully sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Services (DAAD). Due to her passion in Mentoring, she is fully involved in Workshops in WAFIRA on Mentoring Young females just building their career in Academics. She also recently initiated the University of Ibadan Gender Study/ WAFIRA Mentoring Programme.
