To ensure effective coordination and promote collaboration, research, and development, branches are grouped under the six geopolitical zones. OWSD Nigeria is led by the National Chairperson, Professor Folasade Mayowa Olajuyigbe, supported by a team of National Executives, Zonal Coordinators, and Branch Coordinators. The vision of OWSD Nigeria is to build a vibrant and inclusive community of women scientists in Nigeria who contribute actively to national and global scientific advancement, innovation, and sustainable development. Its mission is to empower women in science and related fields across Nigeria through capacity building, mentorship, research collaboration, and advocacy, fostering innovation for social impact, advancing gender equity, and contributing to sustainable development at both national and global levels. The core values of OWSD Nigeria are captured in the acronym EQUIP: Empowerment—supporting women scientists to reach their full potential through skills development and mentorship; Quality Collaboration—fostering meaningful partnerships across disciplines, institutions, and regions for impactful research; Upholding Integrity—maintaining ethical standards in science, education, and leadership; Innovation—driving creative and sustainable solutions to address national and global challenges; and Promoting Inclusivity—advancing diversity and equal opportunities in science and education across Nigeria.
