About me

Psychology (UWC)

I am a Psychology Postgraduate student from the University of the Western Cape, my work develops neurocultural cartographies as a critical theoretical apparatus for analysing cognition and neurodevelopment as relational and constituted through history, power, and material conditions of existence. Drawing on medical anthropology, critical neuroscience and decolonial psychology I explore how neural plasticity, affective regulation, and cognitive dispositions are differentially organised under regimes of precarity, governance, and uneven distributions of care. More broadly my academic interests lie at the neuro-social nexus, engaging debates on embodiment, mental health governance and the ethics of psychological knowledge production, with a sustained interest in rethinking pathology, vulnerability, and resilience beyond individualised models.
