Patricia Whitelock manages the South African LSST Programme on behalf of the South African Astronomical Observatory. She is an honorary professor with the astronomy department at the university of Cape Town, a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa and of the World Academy of Science. She serves on the executive committee of the African Astronomical Society (2025-2028).
