I'm a senior laboratory professional with over 14 years of experience at the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI), currently serving as Acting Senior Deputy Director/ Technical Manager of Food Laboratory, SLSI. I have specialized in food laboratory management, accreditation, and quality systems, and have led improvements in efficiency, revenue growth, and testing capacity. My work includes developing analytical methods, expanding accredited scope, supporting national standards, and contributing to auditing and training activities locally and internationally.
I'm a senior laboratory professional with over 14 years of experience at the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI), currently serving as Acting Senior Deputy Director/ Technical Manager in the Food Laboratory (SLSI). Progressing from Assistant Director to Deputy Director, they have led food laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards and maintaining accreditation.
I have driven significant growth in laboratory performance, doubling sample volumes and increasing revenue while improving efficiency without additional staff. My contributions to the Laboratory include developing and validating multiple analytical methods (e.g., trans fats, Sudan dyes, S-value for milk powder), commissioning advanced instruments such as UHPLC, and expanding the laboratory’s accredited scope.
Beyond laboratory management, I have played an active role in national standards development, auditing (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, GMP), and technical training. I have also contributed to international and governmental initiatives, demonstrating strong expertise in food testing, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
