About me
Dr. Sidra Ahmad is a PhD graduate in Biotechnology from Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, The University of Agriculture Peshawar, Pakistan, Pakistan, with expertise in plant nanobiotechnology for sustainable agriculture. Her research focuses on the green synthesis of nanoparticles and their application in seed priming to enhance crop growth and nutritional quality. She has contributed to eco-friendly agricultural practices and interdisciplinary research bridging nanotechnology, plant physiology, and crop improvement.
Dr. Sidra Ahmad is a biotechnology researcher with a PhD from Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, The University of Agriculture Peshawar, Pakistan, specializing in plant nanobiotechnology for sustainable agriculture. Her doctoral research focused on the green synthesis of iron oxide nanoparticles using plant extracts and their application in seed priming to improve rice germination, seedling growth, and nutritional quality. She has extensive experience in nanoparticle characterization, physiological and biochemical analysis of plants, and eco-friendly agricultural practices.
Dr. Ahmad has served as the Regional Coordinator for IEEE Women in Nanotechnology (WIN), promoting networking, mentorship, and professional development for women in the field. She has also contributed as a Visiting Lecturer at Khyber Medical University, where she has been teaching biochemistry and microbiology courses since 2020, designing lectures and mentoring students. Additionally, she has worked as a Research Associate on applied agricultural projects.
She has actively participated in international conferences to share her work and is committed to advancing innovative, sustainable solutions in agriculture. Her expertise bridges nanotechnology, plant physiology, and crop improvement, demonstrating a strong interdisciplinary approach to addressing challenges in sustainable food production.
