Miss Sinesipho Fose
About me
I am a graduate from the University of Fort Hare in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree, Honours degree in both Geology and Applied Remote Sensing and GIS. I also obtained a Master's degree in Applied Remote Sensing and GIS. I am currently enrolled for a PhD in the University of Witwatersrand under the Geography department.
I have hands-on experience with GIS and Remote Sensing tools. My master's research focused on monitoring sweet potato crop diseases through the integration of UAV multispectral imagery and spectroscopy, equipping me with advanced technical and analytical skills in precision agriculture. My PhD research focuses on climate change impacts on extreme weather events in eastern South Africa. I am Proficient in ArcGIS, QGIS, ENVI, TerrSet, and image processing software, with hands-on experience in UAV utilization, data collection and analysis, and spatial modelling, as well as conducting research and producing GIS-based maps. I am gaining a lot of experience in this PhD journey, such as climate models skills and Python Programming. I am passionate about applying my technical and research skills to develop innovative solutions. My objective is to contribute meaningfully to an organization or company by utilizing my expertise in GIS and Remote Sensing to support research, decision-making, and knowledge development.
