I am a Biotechnology professional with an Advanced Diploma and Bachelor of Science Honours in Biotechnology, with hands-on experience in microbiology, laboratory research, antimicrobial testing, nanoparticle synthesis, cell culture, and biological assays. My research experience includes investigating the biological and anticancer potential of medicinal plant extracts and nanoparticles. I am passionate about laboratory research, scientific innovation, and applying biotechnology to develop solutions in healthcare and related fields.
Zanele Mganto Khuselo is a biotechnology professional with a strong academic foundation and practical expertise in microbiology, molecular biology, and applied biotechnology. She holds a National Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Biotechnology from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science Honours in Biotechnology from the University of the Western Cape. Her academic journey reflects consistent achievement, with distinctions in bio entrepreneurship, bioinformatics, and microbial biochemistry, alongside hands on training in advanced laboratory techniques such as HPLC, mass spectrometry, and tissue culture.
Professionally, Zanele has contributed to research and innovation at the University of the Western Cape as both a Research Technician and Project Technician. Her work spans antimicrobial product development, nanoparticle synthesis, cancer cell culture research, and postgraduate training in microbiological techniques. She is skilled in antimicrobial susceptibility testing, nanoparticle based product formulation, and bioinformatics tools, combining scientific rigor with creativity in problem solving. With experience in laboratory management, procurement, and mentoring, Zanele brings both technical expertise and leadership to biotechnology research and development.
