OWSD UNIDEL-NOTAP, Champion Female Innovation in STEM, Urge Girls to Lead Nigeria's Next Technology Revolution
In a bold move to inspire a new generation of female innovators and bridge Nigeria's gender gap in science and technology, the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), in collaboration with the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office (IPTTO) and the Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), UNIDEL Branch, has empowered female students of the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, with critical knowledge on Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
The high-impact sensitisation workshop, held at the University's 1,000 Capacity Hall, on Tuesday July 21, 2026, brought together female students in STEM, academics, researchers and technology experts in a concerted effort to position young women as drivers of Nigeria's technological and economic transformation.
The workshop focused on intellectual property protection, technology transfer and innovation management, underscoring the need for research findings to be converted into commercially viable products capable of addressing societal challenges.
