Dr Funmilayo Grace Adebiyi
About me
Dr Funmilayo Grace Adebiyi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Animal Science, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and Coordinator of the Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition Unit. She is an animal nutritionist with research interests in sustainable animal nutrition, alternative feed resources, natural feed additives, insect-based feed ingredients, and the application of agricultural biochemistry to improve livestock productivity and food quality. She is passionate about teaching, research, mentoring, and supporting the development of young scientists.
Dr Funmilayo Grace Adebiyi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, where she also serves as the Coordinator of the Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition Unit. She obtained her B.Agric. degree from the University of Ilorin, and her MSc and PhD degrees in Animal Science from the University of Ibadan.
Dr Adebiyi’s academic and research interests are centred on animal nutrition, feed science, agricultural biochemistry, and sustainable livestock production. Her research focuses particularly on the utilisation of alternative feed resources, agro-industrial by-products, insect-based protein sources, natural and phytogenic feed additives, antioxidant status, meat and egg quality, and the development of cost-effective and sustainable feeding strategies for livestock.
She has contributed to teaching and postgraduate training in animal nutrition, agricultural biochemistry, and related areas, and has supervised undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. She is passionate about mentoring young researchers and students and promoting practical, innovative approaches to livestock production and food security.
Beyond teaching and research, Dr Adebiyi has participated in professional, academic, and community-based activities and continues to contribute to the advancement of agricultural science through research, mentorship, collaboration, and service.
