About me

My scientific interests can be summed up in two words: Environmental Sustainability. In depth, my interests range from biodegradation and bioremediation of toxic pollutants, to nanobioremediation of oil spills, microplastics, nanoplastics, heavy metals, aquatic toxicology, biofuels and renewable energy, environmental chemistry, water quality assessment, microbial ecology, resource conservation, sustainable agriculture and Bioinformatics. I have a doctoral degree in Environmental Microbiology. I am experienced in research design, bacterial culturing, microbial genetics, biodegradation and bioremediation studies, biological synthesis of nanoparticles, molecular microbiology techniques, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Beyond the walls of a research lab, I am passionate about teaching, volunteering, and community service.
