About me

Amanda Obidike is an accomplished non-profit leader and Data Scientist with 13 years experience in directing social enterprises, start-ups and complex organizations in Africa, Europe and MENA Nations. As the Executive Director of STEMi Makers Africa, she has led, provided leadership and prepares the next generation of Africans to be self-reliant and problem-solvers for Africa's economy.

Amanda Obidike is an accomplished non-profit leader and Data Scientist with 13 years experience in directing social enterprises, start-ups and complex organizations in Africa, Europe and MENA Nations. As the Executive Director of STEMi Makers Africa, she has led, provided leadership and prepares the next generation of Africans to be self-reliant and problem-solvers for Africa's economy.

In 2025, she was selected as the Class of 2025 most Influential Persons of African Descent (MIPAD). Named as the Top 20 Influential Women in technology in Africa, Amanda is a Mastery Awardee in Artificial Intelligence by IBM, a data scientist, embedded robotics scientist and a policy expert in STEM education. She has also served on the IEEE New Initiatives Committee, IEEE Global Public Policy and the African Union Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA) in STEM Education. Owing to her contribution in Science and Technology, she was recently named a Fellow of the New York Academy of Science and leading 25 Women contributing to the evolution of Artificial Intelligence in 2025.

In 2023, she made the "Women Who change the World" list, Top 100 Women of the Future in Emerging Tech, amongst many others. She is a Techwomen Awardee, an initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and winner of the Innocent Chukwuma Prize for Women empowerment and Youth Development. In 2021, she became a Global 20 Goldman Sachs Fellowship Winner and emerged Winner in the UK’s foremost award, the FDM EveryWoman in Technology, Tech For Good Category. In 2020, she was given the Technology Rising Star Award by WOC, Michigan for successfully championing diversity in technology and innovation for the girl child. She has also been celebrated by Forbes Science as an African changing the culture fabric for young talents to embrace opportunities in Science and Technology.

Amanda has led Strategy Development and Execution, Humanitarian responses and has served as the African Union (AU) CESASTEM Cluster for driving Educator reforms, policies and instructional pedagogy in STEM across 21 African countries. She serves as a Mentor in the New York Academy of Science and Cherie Blair Foundation, Global thinkers for Women where she lends her voice and knowledge to serve as a role model to girls in Africa.
