About me
Dr. Amelia Almeida is a Senior Lecturer in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Mitigation at Massey University, where she focuses on advancing sustainable ruminant production systems and enhancing feed efficiency to minimize environmental impact. Her academic identity is rooted in the belief that science is most powerful when it is inclusive, applied, and globally connected. A key highlight of her career is her leadership in revising the Australian Feedlot Methane Inventory, a contribution now incorporated into national greenhouse gas accounting. Her teaching philosophy is deeply influenced by her journey as a first-generation scholar from a low-income rural region in Brazil, driving her commitment to equity, diversity, and the transformational power of education
