About me

Ana Gutiérrez is a Bolivian industrial engineer who graduated with honors from USFX. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Data Mining, driven by the potential of data to generate social and environmental solutions. She has participated in diverse projects, including the design of a sanitary pad dispenser for Water For People and studies related to quality management under ISO 9001. She also holds diplomas in Economics for Sustainable Development and in Strategic Management of Community Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility.

She works as a research consultant at USFX, where she conducts studies on risk perception related to agrochemical exposure in native bee production areas, as well as the physicochemical and biological quality of water in the Quirpinchaca River. In 2025, she received international recognition by winning the UNESCO Clubs Worldwide Youth Multimedia Competition. Her trajectory combines engineering, data analysis, and a strong commitment to sustainable development.

Ana Gutiérrez is a young Bolivian professional and industrial engineer, graduating with Academic Excellence from the Universidad San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca (USFX). Since the beginning of her academic training, she has demonstrated a rare combination of technical rigor, social sensitivity, and commitment to sustainable development—qualities that continue to guide both her professional trajectory and academic aspirations.

Driven by the conviction that data can transform decision-making and generate high-impact solutions, Ana is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Mining at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She views this field as essential for developing tools that help better understand social and environmental challenges in Latin America. She is also exploring scholarships and academic opportunities in Argentina, where she hopes to continue her studies in person and expand her regional perspective.

Professionally, Ana has worked on various multidisciplinary projects, both before and after completing her degree. One of the most significant was carried out with Water For People, where she contributed to the design of a sanitary pad dispenser aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene in rural schools. This project allowed her to apply engineering principles to real-world problems, especially those related to gender equity and public health.

Ana also has solid knowledge of quality and environmental management systems, including ISO 9001, which has enabled her to engage in processes focused on organizational optimization and continuous improvement. Her interest in sustainability led her to complement her technical education with two postgraduate diplomas: one in Economics for Sustainable Development, and another in Strategic Management of Community Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility, strengthening her ability to analyze issues from socioeconomic and community-based perspectives.

She currently works as a research consultant at her alma mater, USFX, where she is developing two regionally relevant studies:

an analysis of risk perception related to agrochemical exposure in areas of native bee (Meliponini) production, and

a project monitoring the physicochemical and biological water quality of the effluents from the El Campanario Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in the Quirpinchaca River in the municipality of Yotala.

Both studies are in the review and writing phase and reflect her growing interest in the intersection of data, the environment, and local development.

In recognition of her creativity, social vision, and communication skills, Ana was awarded the UNESCO Clubs Worldwide Youth Multimedia Competition 2025, a prize highlighting youth projects oriented toward building a more just, inclusive, and sustainable world.

Guided by a strong sense of purpose, Ana aims to continue her academic growth and contribute to innovative solutions that strengthen community well-being and environmental sustainability. Her trajectory reflects discipline, a commitment to continuous learning, and a deep dedication to social impact.
