Ms. Archana Maharjan

About me

My name is Archana Maharjan, and I am PhD Scholar from the Central Department of Biotechnology, Tribhuvan University. My PhD research focuses on Virus like Particles and production of vaccine candidate for dengue. I have completed my M.Sc. Biotechnology from the Central Department of Biotechnology, Tribhuvan University at 2017. My thesis title was "Characterization of bacteriophages against multi-drug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Phylogenetic analysis of multi-host range bacteriophages". I have been recognized with awards for best poster presentation (International Conference on Emerging Trends in Biological, Chemical, and Physical Sciences, Dec 9–11, 2016; ICET-2016), the best oral presentation (World DNA Day, April 24, 2017), and a Master's Research Support Grant (University Grants Commission, 2017). I have been honored with an ASM FLMF Fellow issued by the American Society for Microbiology, May 2025. I am also a recipient of the Emerging PhD Grant issued by Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Khumaltar, Kathmandu, Nepal, April 2025. Furthermore, I have also published an article as a first author, entitled "Isolation and Characterization of Lytic Bacteriophages against Multi-Drug-Resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa" in the Journal of Nepal Health Research Council, based on my M.Sc. thesis work.
