About me

Dr. Bukola Abimbola Onyekwelu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Elizade University in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, Nigeria. She holds a Ph.D. (2015) and an M.Tech (2009) in Computer Science from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, in addition to a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Achievers University, Owo (2021) and a B.Tech from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (1991).
Her research spans a wide range of topics, including cybersecurity and intrusion detection, generative AI and facial recognition policy, and gamified e-learning systems. Dr. Onyekwelu is also interested in quantum-resistant cryptography, machine learning in education, and steganography.
Dr. Onyekwelu's published work includes journal articles on quantum-resistant key exchange , automated linguistic steganography , and a Bayesian approach to network intrusion detection. She has also contributed a book chapter on fraud detection in DAOs using machine learning. Her international collaborations include projects with the Technical University of Munich on Cyber trust and global dialogues on AI. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) and the Nigerian Women in Information Technology (NIWIIT).
