Mrs Chandrika Ramiah
About me
Chandrika Ramiah is a renewable energy researcher from Mauritius focusing on solar PV risk assessment, financial modelling, and Artificial-Intelligence (AI) based decision support systems for developing countries. Her PhD work develops a robust risk management framework to strengthen the bankability and technical reliability of solar PV projects in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and African regions. She is committed to advancing sustainable energy solutions and increasing scientific capacity in developing economies.
Chandrika Ramiah is a Mauritian renewable energy researcher specialising in solar photovoltaic (PV) risk assessment, financial modelling, and Artificial-Intelligence (AI)-driven decision support systems for emerging economies. She is currently completing her PhD, where she is developing a robust, data-driven framework to improve the bankability and technical reliability of solar PV projects in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and African regions. Her work integrates quantitative risk analysis, fuzzy-Bayesian reliability modelling, Monte Carlo simulations, and machine learning to support transparent and resilient clean-energy investment.
Her research has led to the creation of Solar PV Bankability Guidelines and an AI-enabled tool that assists policymakers, financiers, and developers in evaluating long-term project viability. She has published on renewable energy performance assessment and risk management, and has contributed to national and regional discussions on sustainable energy development.
Driven by a commitment to advancing women’s participation in science and supporting the energy transition in developing countries, she aims to expand her work to strengthen research capacity, promote data transparency, and enable evidence-based decision-making in clean-energy systems across Africa and SIDS.
