About me

Dr Chinyere Veronica Ogbodo is a Lecturer and industrial/environmental chemist trained and licensed in Nigeria with over twelve (12) years’ experience in offline and online teaching of Chemistry at different educational levels; over three years’ experience in practical industrial applications of Chemistry, particularly water quality control and HSE at a water treatment plant and independent environmental safety research.
A graduate of Pure and Industrial Chemistry from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka (2006), M. Sc. Analytical Chemistry from Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi and PhD Environmental Chemistry from Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Dr Ogbodo, C. V. has vast knowledge in diverse aspects of industrial chemical technology, water quality analysis, food safety and environmental safety research. Her research interests include but are not limited to Toxic Metals Remediation, Water Quality and Sanitation, Environmental Safety Research and Food Safety.
She is a member, Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Network of Nigerian Women in STEM (NWiSTEM) and a member, International Young Chemists Network (IYCN).
Currently, her responsibilities in the department of Chemistry NOUN include, course material development, facilitation of the courses, CHM 312 (Industrial Chemical Processes I) and CHM 417 (Industrial Chemical Processes II). She also handles course coordination for the courses: CHM 413 (Analytical Chemistry II), CHM 409 (Electrochemistry), CHM 415 (Industrial Chemical Technology II) and CHM 318 (Natural Product Chemistry I). She is the course materials coordinator for the department.
Dr Ogbodo, C. V. is the recipient of so many professional and community development service awards, including the prestigious IUPAC 2020 Nobelium Award for the 2019 IYPT Periodic Table Challenge, NYSC/MDG Advocacy Project 2008 Federal Honours Award for Outstanding MDG Advocacy and the 2008 Benue State Government State Honours Award for Outstanding Community Development Service.
