Mrs Christelle KOMLAN

Christelle Marie Komlan Ahihou is an agricultural economist and monitoring, evaluation, and
learning specialist with extensive experience in agricultural research, project monitoring, impact
evaluation, and data analysis in West Africa. She holds a Master of Science in Mathematics,
Economics and Statistics from the African School of Economics in Benin, as well as an
Agricultural Engineering degree in Agricultural Economics from the Faculty of Agronomic
Sciences at the University of Abomey-Calavi.
She currently works as a Research Assistant in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning at the
World Vegetable Center. In this role, she supports data collection, database management,
indicator tracking, staff training, and impact evaluation studies. She also contributes to social
inclusion monitoring, knowledge management, and scientific publications. Before joining the
World Vegetable Center, she worked as Assistant Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in the
Project Management Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture in Benin, and earlier as Research
Assistant with the National Agricultural Research Institute of Benin and the International
Institute of Tropical Agriculture.
Christelle has strengthened her expertise through advanced training in rigorous impact
evaluation, experimental economics, qualitative research methods, field research management,
and randomized evaluation design, including courses from the World Bank DIME Analytics, J-
PAL, DEval, and other international institutions. Her research interests include agricultural
policy, vegetable value chains, agroecological practices, market systems, and the socioeconomic
assessment of agricultural innovations.
She has contributed to several scientific publications on vegetable systems, farmer resilience, and
producer preferences in West Africa. She is fluent in French, has good command of English, and
is skilled in data collection and analysis tools including Stata, R, Kobo Collect, Survey CTO,
Akvo Flow, and Microsoft Office.
