My research area is on synthetic bioinorganic Chemistry. My current work involves the synthesis and investigation of the effect of new heterocyclic based Schiff bases and their metal complexes against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other clinically important bacteria. The treatment of tuberculosis is an important health problem to solve due to emergence of multi-drug resistant and co-morbidity of tuberculosis with HIV/AIDS. The new compounds will be desirable in the management and treatment of tuberculosis. I am also investigating the electronic absorption behavior of these compounds for use in structure elucidation.
