About me

Dr. Diala I Atiyat is an Assistant Professor of Architectural Engineering with a strong academic and professional focus on sustainable architecture, smart cities, and cultural heritage management. She holds a PhD in Architectural Engineering, with her doctoral research centered on hybrid approaches to managing smart cultural heritage within smart city contexts, using Amman Downtown as a case study.
Her academic experience includes teaching and curriculum development in Urban Planning, Sustainable Architecture, Architectural Conservation, and Digital Design tools, alongside extensive supervision of postgraduate research. Dr. Atiyat has actively contributed to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of cultural heritage, digital technologies, and urban sustainability, with over 17 peer-reviewed publications in international journals.
She has participated in and presented at numerous international conferences and workshops related to smart cities, green transition, heritage education, and innovation in higher education. As a member of ICOMOS Jordan and several international academic networks, she is deeply engaged in heritage preservation, community-oriented development, and university–society collaboration.
