About me
Diana Patricia Zuleta Mediavilla is an Ecuadorian environmental engineer and researcher with a PhD in Construction Technologies. Her work focuses on sustainable urban development, climate resilience, environmental technologies, the biotechnosphere, and the relationship between cities, nature and human well-being. She has experience in academic research, higher education, scientific publication and interdisciplinary projects related to sustainable cities and environmental innovation in Latin America.
Diana Patricia Zuleta Mediavilla is an Ecuadorian environmental engineer, researcher and academic with a PhD in Construction Technologies from Southwest State University in Russia. Her professional and scientific work focuses on sustainable urban development, environmental technologies, climate resilience, sustainable construction, urban biotechnosphere, and the relationship between nature, technology and human well-being in Latin American cities.
She has developed research and academic initiatives related to sustainable cities, urban environmental quality, climate change adaptation, urban heat, green infrastructure, biodiversity conservation and the integration of technological tools for territorial analysis. Her work combines environmental engineering, urban studies, construction technologies, GIS-based approaches, remote sensing and interdisciplinary methods to understand how cities can become more resilient, inclusive and environmentally balanced.
Diana has experience as a university lecturer and researcher in Ecuador, particularly in the fields of architecture, urban sustainability and environmental innovation. She has participated in scientific publications, collaborative research projects and academic initiatives connected to sustainable development, climate action, nature-based solutions and urban transformation. Her current interests include the development of urban biotechnosphere models, sustainable mobility, climate-resilient planning, and the creation of knowledge products that connect science, education and society.
Through her work, she seeks to contribute to the advancement of women in science, the strengthening of research in Latin America, and the development of sustainable solutions for cities facing environmental and social challenges.
