About me

I am a Principal Investigator in the Department of Chemical Biology at the Facultad de Ciencias Químicas, National University of Asunción (Paraguay), and a Researcher Level II (CONACYT). I hold a Ph.D. in Sciences from the University of Cádiz (Spain). My research focuses on natural products from plants and fungi, particularly their structural elucidation and biological activity. I have extensive experience in research, teaching, and academic leadership.

I am a researcher at the National University of Asunción (Paraguay) and a Researcher Level II recognized by CONACYT. I hold a Ph.D. in Sciences from the University of Cádiz (Spain), where I also earned an M.Sc. in Chemical Sciences and Technologies. In addition, I obtained an M.Sc. in Plant Sciences and Biotechnology from the Scientific Research Center of Yucatán (Mexico), and a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Clinical Biochemistry from the National University of Asunción.
My research focuses on natural products from plants and fungi, including their isolation, structural elucidation, synthesis, and evaluation of biological activity, particularly in health and agricultural applications. I am especially interested in developing analytical and biotechnological approaches to characterize bioactive compounds and support their practical applications.
In addition to my research, I serve as a faculty representative on the Governing Council of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences, contributing to institutional decision-making and academic governance. I previously served as Academic Director (2021–2025) and Director of Postgraduate Studies (2016–2017). I have extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and General Chemistry, and I actively supervise undergraduate, Master’s, and Ph.D. theses.
Throughout my career, I have integrated research, teaching, and academic leadership, contributing to the training of human resources and the advancement of scientific research in Paraguay.
