My name is Eunice Ayodele Babalola. Assistant Lecturer at University of Abuja, Nigeria. I have a Masters and B.Sc in Plant science and Biotechnology from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. I am interested in Plant Biology and how to work with plants especially lower plants sustainably to provide food and medicine for people in developed countries and the world at large. My MSc and BSc thesis were on effect of Curcuma longa and Curcuma zedoaria on Tetradesmus obliquus growth and biocomposition and Effect of Moringa oleifera leave extract on Ankistrodesmus growth. Both supported the growth and even the fat content was increased in Tetradesmus obliquus grown in ethanolic C. longa extract. My main focus is on algal biotechnology, with the goal of supporting algae growth as they are green alternatives for fuel, medicine, enzymes and dyes. Though a major hindrances faced by phycologist is the cost of cultivation, therefore a need for cheaper growth media for mass cultivation
