Oriola joined the services of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, as a Lecturer I in the Department of Physiology in June 2020 and was promoted to the Senior Lecturer position in 2023. She has successfully supervised many undergraduate projects and MSc projects, and is currently supervising and mentoring postgraduate students in the Department of Physiology.

She has peer-reviewed articles published in both local and international reputable journals. Her academic work as a scholar cut across the fields of reproductive physiology (with major research thrust in dietary lifestyle and its mechanistic impacts on male and female reproductive functions and developmental programming), pharmacology, toxicology, and experimental medicine. Her studies have contributed to the body of knowledge mainly in the areas of Medicinal and Dietary Plant Safety, Reproductive and Systemic Toxicological Consequences of Saccharum officinarum Products, Caffeine and Reproductive Health, Environmental Toxicology and Protective Agents. Her minor research has been on Antidiabetic, Antimicrobial, and antimalarial natural products.
