About me
Fatima Bello Mohammed an MSc Industrial Chemistry candidate at Nile University of Nigeria with BSc pure and applied chemistry from Al-alam University Katsina, with research interest in environmental and industrial chemistry, particularly adsorption and sustainable materials for water treatment. My current research focuses on the development of activated carbon from bituminous coal for the removal of methylene blue from aqueous solutions. I’m passionate about advancing women in STEM, sustainable scientific innovation, and contributing to research that addresses environmental challenges in developing countries.
I am a Nigerian scientist and researcher with a background in Pure and Applied Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry. I hold a BSc in Pure and Applied Chemistry from Al-Qalam University, Katsina, and an MSc in Industrial Chemistry from Nile University of Nigeria. I am currently pursuing an MBA, with growing interests at the intersection of science, industry, energy, sustainability, and strategic management.
My research interests include environmental chemistry, adsorption technology, wastewater treatment, activated carbon development, and the analysis of metals in medicinal plants. My MSc research focused on the development of activated carbon from bituminous coal for the removal of methylene blue from aqueous solutions. I am also interested in research that translates scientific knowledge into practical solutions to environmental and industrial challenges.
As a member of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), I am passionate about supporting the advancement and visibility of women in science, technology, and research. I am particularly interested in scientific collaboration, capacity building, evidence-based policy, and creating opportunities that enable women scientists to contribute meaningfully to sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond.
