I am a postgraduate student of One Health at the One Health Institute, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria. I hold a B.Sc. in Zoology, and I have shaped my academic and professional journey around linking human, animal, and environmental health. My research interests include food safety, zoonotic diseases, climate change, and community health systems, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
I actively participate in professional development programs, including OHIMP Cohort 1 – One Health Implementation Academy (OHIA), bioinformatics and genomic analysis training, and workshops on Artificial Intelligence in Medical Practice. I also support undergraduate and postgraduate students through research mentorship, guiding them in methodology, report writing, and project development.
Currently, I am working on a project assessing the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of local food vendors regarding food safety, using a One Health approach to improve hygiene standards and reduce zoonotic disease risks. I am an active member of scientific networks that promote women in science and multidisciplinary collaboration, and I use these connections to share knowledge and foster innovation.
Through my academic, research, and mentorship activities, I am committed to advancing evidence-based solutions to complex health challenges. I aspire to contribute to national and global health initiatives with organizations such as WHO, FAO, and CDC, while promoting sustainable health and community well-being.
