About me

Dr. Hemavathi S. is a Scientist-D at CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Chennai Unit, India, and Assistant Professor at AcSIR. Her research focuses on AI-enabled battery management systems, lithium-ion battery safety, electro-thermal diagnostics, battery thermal management, digital-twin-ready monitoring, and intelligent control for electric mobility and energy storage applications. She is involved in national R&D projects on smart BMS, e-mobility, advanced energy storage, and mission-critical lithium-ion systems. Her work supports safe, reliable, and sustainable energy technologies for transportation, grid storage, and societal applications.

Dr. Hemavathi S. is a Scientist-D at CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Chennai Unit, India, and Assistant Professor at the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR). She works in the broad area of electrochemical energy storage, with special focus on AI-enabled Battery Management Systems, Battery Thermal Management Systems, lithium-ion battery safety, electro-thermal diagnostics, embedded monitoring, and mission-critical energy storage technologies.

Her research integrates battery electrochemistry, thermal management, embedded systems, artificial intelligence, data-driven diagnostics, and safety-oriented control architectures. She contributes to the development of intelligent and reliable battery technologies for electric mobility, grid-connected energy storage, agricultural electrification, underwater platforms, and other mission-critical applications.

She is the Principal Investigator of a DST-supported project on AI-based Smart Battery Management Systems for energy storage and
