Inutu Katoti > Other Awards
This was a 2021 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Women in Engineering (WIE) Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (WIECON-ECE). My project involved using Simulink simulation for an improved control strategy of a stand-alone microgrid using a DC bus. Power and proportional current sharing are achieved by voltage control mode, which maintains a constant voltage across distributed energy sources and prevents circulating current. To handle the fluctuations that arise due to the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources (RES), PI/PID and fuzzy logic (FL) controllers were used to determine which would produce the lowest voltage fluctuations.

About me

A Zambian Renewable Energy Engineer and Development Professional dedicated to advancing the global energy transition and driving sustainable and innovative solutions.

Here is my portfolio for your perusal: https://sites.google.com/view/inutukatotimscengbsc/home

With an MSc in Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy Systems from the University of Leeds and hands-on experience as the Founder of Ziva Energy Services, I bring a solid foundation in strategic and design thinking, renewable energy systems, biodiversity conservation, including a resourceful and innovative approach to sustainability . My goal is to continue fostering impactful initiatives that promote sustainability and climate resilience.

My areas of expertise include project management and development, resource mobilisation, experience in renewable energy technologies such as solar, wind, biomass combined heat and power, energy efficiency analysis, modelling, and assessment, sales management, use of control systems in power systems, energy economic evaluation and energy auditing, energy rating of buildings, carbon auditing, report writing, analytical skills, collaborating in multicultural and multidisciplinary settings, and teaching.

As an I ACT Peer Educator, I contribute to advancing climate action by empowering young leaders through the Italy-International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Action for Climate Toolkit initiative. This role allows me to drive awareness about climate change, renewable energy, and sustainable development through community-focused workshops and engagement activities.
