About me

I am Dr.Janet Nwaekpe, a seasoned socioeconomic researcher and value chain specialist with over a decade of experience at the National Root Crops Research Institute (NRCRI), Umudike. My research focuses on the intersection of value chain, climate change, gender, and rural development. Specifically, I aim to explore and address the socio-economic challenges faced by rural farmers in Nigeria, with a particular emphasis on enhancing agricultural value chains, promoting sustainable farming practices, and empowering women and youths in agriculture. Through my work, I seek to contribute to the development of effective strategies and interventions that can improve food security, livelihoods, and overall well-being in rural communities.
