Miss Kofoworola Babasola

I am a microbiologist and public health researcher with a strong academic background in infectious diseases, medical microbiology, and public health. I hold a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Microbiology, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Medical Microbiology and Parasitology from Olabisi Onabanjo University, and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Public Health from the National Open University of Nigeria.
I currently work as Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Public Health at the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, Nigeria, where I am involved in teaching, research and community engagement. Prior to this appointment, I worked as a Technologist in the Department of Microbiology, where I gained extensive experience in microbiological laboratory practice, diagnostic techniques, research support, and practical instruction for undergraduate students.
My research interests are in field of medical microbiology, infectious disease epidemiology, and public health interventions. My postgraduate research has focused on maternal infections and adverse pregnancy outcomes, as well as the prevalence, psychopathology, and possible interventions for mental illness among young people for my public health.

These research experiences have strengthened my commitment to generating evidence that informs disease prevention, health promotion, and policy development.
I have authored and co-authored several scientific publications in reputable journals. I have also participated in collaborative research initiatives, including TETFund-supported projects, which have enhanced my research capacity and fostered multidisciplinary collaboration.
As an early-career academic, I am passionate about advancing knowledge through high-quality research, effective teaching, and mentorship. I aspire to contribute to the development of innovative and evidence-based solutions to public health challenges while promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, scientific excellence, and capacity building to improve health outcomes in Nigeria and beyond.
