I am Dr. (Mrs.) Kudirat Abiola Adegoke CLN. I am the University Librarian of UDUS, with over 17 years of working in the University Library and the department of library and information Science. I am the Treasurer of the OWSD in UDUS, Sokoto State. I am the President of the Practical Artificial Intelligence Development Foundation, Sokoto State Chapter, Vice President of the Nigeria Computer Society, and chairperson of NLA Sokoto. Chapter.

Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke is a Certified Librarian of Nigeria (CLN) and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Education and Extension Services, before her appointment as the University Librarian of the Usmanu Danfodiyo Sokoto. She obtained her PhD in Library and Information Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Master's and Bachelor of Library and Information Science degrees from the famous Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Post Master’s Professional Development Certificate at the University of Pretoria, Pretoria, South Africa respectively. Her areas of interest include Information and Communication Technologies, Library Administration, Library Automation, Digitisation, Data Management, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Marketing and Cybersecurity. She is a graduate of the Virtual Institute for Capacity Building for Higher Education in Africa Modules 8,9 &10 ( ABC of the Artificial Intelligence, Writing Grant Winning Proposals and Fund Raising and Cybersecurity).

Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke was appointed as the 5th and 1st Female Substantive University Librarian of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto on 1st of December, 2024 after serving as the Pioneer Acting University Librarian of the Rayhaan University Birnin Kebbi in 2024. She has worked in the ICT Division of the Abdullahi Fodiyo Library Complex where she rose through the ranks to become Senior Librarian and was appointed as the Acting Head of the ICT Division for three consecutive terms before she was later redeployed to the Department of Library and Information Science, Faculty of Education, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto where she was appointed as Senior Lecturer.

Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke is currently the Chairperson of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), Acting National President of the PAIDeF (2025 till date) and Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Computer Society, Sokoto State Chapter, Member of the Governing Council of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (2024 till date); Member, Governing Council, Rayhaan University, Birnin Kebbi (2024), Member of the Board of Trustees, Practical Artificial Intelligence Development Foundation (PAIDeF) (2025); Member of Council of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA, 2023 till-date) and Treasurer Organisation for Women in Science in Developing Worlds; Pioneer winner of the Young Library and Information Professionals (yLips) Award of the Nigerian Library Association, Two-time Winner of the Carnegie Grants for Continuous Professional Development Programme for African Young Librarians, Winner of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Library-in-a-Box for Abdullahi Fodiyo Complex, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.
Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke has attended numerous professional conferences, seminars, inaugural lecturers and workshops which have kept her abreast of the current trends in the Library and Information Profession home and abroad.
Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke served as a Secretary in Bizare Oils Ltd, Area II Garki, Abuja before joining the services of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto after one year of compulsory National Youth Service Corps. She was privileged to serve as a member of various university, faculty and departmental committees. A few of such committees include e-Learning, Library Management, ICT, Data Management, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, E-resources Technical, University Tender’s Board, Virtual/ Digitization, Mock Accreditation, Accreditation, ICT, Telecommunication and Proposal draft/grant writing, just to mention a few.
Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke is passionate about leveraging ICT for effective library service delivery. She has introduced Electronic Dissemination of Information (EDI); designed and monitored the development of a portal for Abdullahi Fodiyo Library Complex, established WiFi Arena for undergraduate students of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, created a database of open sources; digital marketing of library resources, introduced e-reference services; and CD-ROM Searching,
Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke is a member of the Nigerian Library Association, a member of the Nigeria Computer Society; member Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World; member Female Lecturers Association; the Internet Society; member of the NLA Digital Communication Crew since its inception till date; a member of the Academic and Research Library Association; Association of the Northern Women Entrepreneurs, she has published many local and international journal articles and book chapters to her credit.
Dr. Kudirat Abiola Adegoke won a grant in 2014, from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, in collaboration with TEEAL Project of Cornell University in the United States of America, donated to the University a based set of the databases worth $75,000. TEEAL is a full-text digital library which provides access to over 200 international and peer-reviewed journals.
