About me

Love Jacob is a Nigerian biochemist with First Class Honours from Wesley University, where she graduated as the Best Graduating Student in both the Department of Biochemistry and the Faculty of Biological Sciences. She has practical academic and laboratory support experience, including service as a Library Assistant during NYSC and data entry work in a university laboratory. Her academic interests span neuroscience, immunochemistry, and computational biosciences. She is passionate about science communication and creative innovation, exploring ways to make biochemistry relatable through everyday concepts and educational content.

Love Jacob is a Nigerian biochemist with a strong academic record and a growing interdisciplinary profile that bridges life sciences, data, and creative innovation. She graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Biochemistry from Wesley University, Ondo State, where she distinguished herself academically and was recognized as the Best Graduating Student in both the Department of Biochemistry and the Faculty of Biological Sciences for two consecutive academic sessions. Her academic performance reflects not only consistency but also a deep intellectual engagement with the molecular foundations of life.

Her scientific interests span multiple areas within and beyond classical biochemistry, including neuroscience, pharmacognosy, immunochemistry, structural and molecular biology, and computational biosciences. This multidisciplinary orientation reflects her broader ambition to explore how biological systems can be understood and applied across medicine, health, and emerging technological frameworks. She is particularly interested in translating complex biochemical concepts into accessible, real-world understanding, especially through education and science communication.

Beyond her academic achievements, Love Jacob has gained practical experience in academic and laboratory environments. During her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), she served as a Library Assistant at Kings University, Odeomu, where she supported academic resource management and student learning access. She also volunteered part-time as a Data Entry Assistant in the university laboratory, contributing to research and administrative data processes. These experiences strengthened her organizational skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with academic research environments.

She is also developing skills in data analytics, web development, and computational sciences, reflecting her interest in the intersection between biology and technology. Alongside this, she is building a science communication initiative titled “Everyday Biochemistry with Ijeoma,” aimed at making biochemistry engaging and relatable by connecting it to daily human experiences such as sleep, food, exercise, and emotions.

In addition to her scientific pursuits, she has a strong creative dimension. She is a fashion designer and has a passion for designing feminine, elegant fashion pieces characterized by flowing silhouettes, soft textures, and expressive detailing. She also aspires to build ventures in beauty and personal care products, particularly focusing on innovative, aesthetically refined formulations such as lip glosses, eyeliners, and hair care products.

Love Jacob’s long-term vision is to integrate science, creativity, and entrepreneurship into impactful innovations that improve lives and reshape how science is perceived and communicated, particularly among young women in Africa.
