About me
Margaret O. Akinwaare is a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife, Registered Public Health Nurse, Researcher, and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Maternal and Child Health Nursing, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Her research areas of interest include: Maternal health (prenatal, perinatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care), Reproductive health (family planning), and Women’s health.
Margaret O. Akinwaare is a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife, Registered Public Health Nurse, Researcher, and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Maternal and Child Health Nursing, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Her research areas of interest include: Maternal health (prenatal, perinatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care), Reproductive health (family planning), and Women’s health. The long-term overall aim of her research is to provide a solution to the problem of high maternal mortality in low and middle-income countries (LMICs), especially in Nigeria.
She is a recipient of fellowship and grant awards such as; the Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) fellowship award, Policy Communication fellowship award, University of Ibadan Medical Education Program Initiative (UI-MEPI-J) mentor-mentee Fellowship award and research grant, Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) conference grant, Global Health Fellowship award and research grant
Margaret is a member of the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (ISSUP), Africa Inter-professional Education Network (AfreHealth), SIGMA Theta TAU International (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing, and the National Association of University Nursing Programs (NAUNP), International AIDS Society (IAS), American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH), Society for AIDS in Africa (SAA).
