About me
I am Maryam Farajpour, currently a PhD student in nuclear engineering. My research focuses on integrating fire dynamics with dynamic probabilistic risk assessment (DPRA) to enhance reactor safety. I hold an M.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering and a B.Sc. in Physics. In addition to research, I have experience teaching physics and mathematics and founded a small learning center to teach these subjects to students and support underprivileged children.
I am Maryam Farajpour, a nuclear engineer and researcher specializing in fire safety, dynamic probabilistic risk assessment (DPRA), and risk analysis in nuclear facilities. I am currently a PhD student, and my research focuses on integrating fire dynamics with probabilistic risk assessment methods to evaluate core damage frequency and enhance reactor safety.
I hold an M.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering and a B.Sc. in Physics from Shiraz University, where I built a strong foundation in nuclear systems, thermal-hydraulics, and safety analysis. My research experience includes advanced fire modeling, probabilistic risk assessment, and simulation-based analysis of fire-induced scenarios in nuclear power plants. I am skilled in using coupled simulation tools such as CFAST, RELAP5, and RAVEN to model complex interactions between fire events and nuclear systems.
In addition to my research, I am passionate about science education. I have teaching experience in physics and mathematics for high school and pre-university students, and I founded a small learning center called Photon, where I teach STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects and support underprivileged children in accessing quality education.
My work combines rigorous scientific research with educational outreach, aiming to enhance nuclear safety, develop innovative risk assessment methods, and promote STEM education. My dedication to both research and teaching reflects my commitment to advancing science and empowering the next generation of learners and researchers.
