Dr. Mayada Khairy
About me
Dr. Mayada Khairy received her B.Sc. degree in Communications, Electronics, and Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt, in 2004. She later obtained both her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering Sciences from the same institution, earning her Ph.D. in 2018.
From 2004 to 2013, she worked in the field of broadcast engineering as a Projects Manager at Systems Design Company. During this period, she collaborated with prominent entities such as the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU), Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC), Nilesat, and various private satellite television channels.
Dr. Khairy has also worked with several leading international companies in the broadcast industry, including Miranda, Grass Valley Harris, Avid, and DMTsys. She has participated in numerous international exhibitions, technical seminars, and training programs held in the United Kingdom, Dubai, Lebanon, Oman, and Jordan.
She also served as a lecturer at several engineering faculties, contributing to academic instruction and supervising student projects. Since July 2013, she has been working as a Researcher at the Computers and Systems Department of the Electronics Research Institute (ERI), Cairo, Egypt.
Her research interests include digital signal processing, artificial intelligence, image and video processing, satellite communications, space systems applications, and 5G technologies.
Dr. Khairy is actively engaged in national and regional engineering and community service activities. She is:
A member of the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate
Assistant Rapporteur of the Space Committee at the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate
A member of the National Committee for Astronomy and Space Sciences
A member of the Federation of Arab Engineers, contributing to regional cooperation in space and digital transformation
A volunteer in the Decent Life Initiative ("Hayah Karima"), launched by the Egyptian Presidency to support rural development and empower local communities across Egypt
