Ms. Morine Mukami Ngarari is a Senior Research Scientist at Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI) in the Mariculture division. She has an academic background in natural and environmental sciences and is undertaking her Ph.D. in Environmental Studies at Karatina University, Kenya. Morine is a passionate aquaculturist with over 15 years of experience. She has successfully implemented several aquaculture-related projects and is currently involved in the implementation of five research and developmental projects with national, regional and international collaborators. This has sharpened her skills in project management as well as teamwork. Her professional skills have been strengthened over the years by undertaking several trainings. The recent courses include the value of systems thinking in relation to food security and Aquaculture Smallholder Business Development. To develop her networking opportunities Morine has attended over 15 professional conferences, seminars and workshops. Besides Morine is a pragmatic strategist who is able to focus on key issues and results to meet national goals and priorities and further make the necessary critical decisions to achieve them. She has the ability to manage challenging task schedules while working in complex and highly demanding environments.
