I currently work as a professor of environmental biotechnology and environmental remediation at the Processes Development Department, Petroleum Biotechnology Lab, Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI). Her research interest is environmental & biotechnological remediation of biofouling and biocorrosion and their environmental risk analysis and management.

• Nesreen A. Fatthallah Amer currently works as a professor (2024 up to date) at the Processes Development Department, Petroleum Biotechnology Lab, Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute (joined EPRI from 1993 up to date), Cairo, Egypt.
• She has 30 years of experience in EPRI:
>> 10 years (1993-2003) of experience as a biologist in Petrochemicals Department, EPRI, Cairo, Egypt;
>> 6 years (2003-2009) as an assistant researcher;
>> 8 years (2009-2018) as a researcher in Petroleum Biotechnology Lab, Processes Development Department, EPRI, Cairo, Egypt;
>> and 3 years (2018 up to date) as an associate professor in Petroleum Biotechnology Lab, Processes Development Department, EPRI, Cairo, Egypt.
• Nesreen joined three research projects:
1- A Co-PI in "Novel Lightweight Superhydrophobic Bio-inspired Silicone/Graphene Nanocomposites for Ecofriendly Maritime Antifouling Coatings" funded by STDF (2023).
2- A staff member in "Bioremediation of Oil Polluted Environment" (2003-2007).
3- A staff member in "Production of Algaecides and Molluscicides in Cooling Water Systems" (1994-2000).
• She shared as a main supervisor in four theses:
1- One M.Sc. thesis awarded in 2013,
2- Two Ph.D. theses awarded in 2017 and 2019, respectively, and
3- One Ph.D. thesis started in 2023 (in progress).
• Nesreen attended different workshops, training courses, and conferences in Egypt (2012-2022) with some research articles and posters. She had also been awarded two diplomas: 1- "Analytical Techniques in Purification of Biomolecules, Excellent 95%" and 2- "Environmental Management, Excellent 93%."
• She shared as a training staff member:
1- In summer courses for undergraduate students from different scientific colleges (2010-2019, and
2- For EPRI researchers (2021) (Mendeley Advisor Community).
• Nesreen is a certified peer reviewer from different reviewer academies [Wiley Reviewer Academy, Elsevier Researchers Academy, Publons/Web of Science Academy, and American Chemical Society (ACS Reviewer Lab)] and shared as a reviewer for various scientific journals and publishers.
• She is a member in Entrepreneur Club at Cairo university (ECCU), and also joined several international scientific committees [Such as Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC); American Chemical Society (ACS); NACE International/ AMPP Association for Materials Protection and Performance; American Society for Microbiology (ASM); Diamond Light Source: UK's National Synchrotron Science Facilities; SESAME Science Portal; Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste; National and International Organizations for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD); Egyptian Corrosion Society; The Arab Society of Molecular Engineering and Biotechnology, Biotechnology Association- Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils (arabiotech/ fasrc); and Egyptian Society of Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology (ESAMNT)].
• She had several high-impact publications with high citation scores from 2012 to 2023. Also, Nesreen (2017) was awarded an appreciation certificate with her colleagues for publishing a research article in a high-impact-factor journal entitled "Synthesis of ultra-hydrophobic and thermally stable inorganic–organic nanocomposites for self-cleaning foul release coatings." Chemical Engineering Journal 320, 653–666. Current impact factor: 16.744.
• Her research interest is environmental biotechnology and remediation of environmental impacts. These include biofouling and biocorrosion, their environmental risks and management, and applying green and blue biotechnologies in petroleum and industrial sectors.
