About me

Dr. Nicté Ordóñez-Garza is a zoologist specializing in the study of mammals. Her work bridges field biology, molecular techniques, and museum sciences to investigate the phylogeography and evolutionary dynamics of Neotropical small mammals and their associated pathogens. With over 40 peer-reviewed publications and leadership roles in international scientific societies, she is dedicated to advancing biodiversity science throughout the Americas. If a founding member of the Guatemalan Association of Mammalogists, Board member of the American Society of Mammalogists (ASM), and actively participates in different international committees in the ASM and the Southwestern Association of Naturalists. Is a member of the Equity in Scientific Representation team within Global Vistas, where she is committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and promoting inclusive research practices.
