About me
Dr. Nkechi Lydia Okocha holds a Ph.D. in Animal Physiology from the Department of Animal Breeding and Physiology, College of Animal Science and Animal Production, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, Nigeria. Her research expertise focuses on Animal physiology, reproductive performance and the utilization of phytogenic feed additives to enhance livestock productivity and sustainable animal agriculture. She integrates biotechnology and environmentally friendly feeding strategies to mitigate the effects of climate change on livestock performance and welfare, thereby strengthening resilience and food security. She has published in reputable national and international journals, with her work contributing significantly to emerging approaches in animal physiology and agricultural sustainability. She is a Registered Animal Scientist (RAS) and active member of the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science and Animal Science Association of Nigeria .Dr. Okocha is deeply committed to mentorship, community development, the empowerment of youth and women in agricultural research.
