About me
Oluwafunmilayo Lemboye is a Physics graduate with a B.Tech in Physics (Energy) from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. Her interests include materials physics and sustainable clean energy. She is passionate about using science, education, and sustainability initiatives to contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
Oluwafunmilayo Lemboye is a Nigerian physicist and sustainability advocate with a background in Physics (Energy) from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Nigeria, where she graduated with a First-Class Bachelor of Technology degree. Her interests lie in materials physics, sustainable clean energy, and sustainable development.
Her undergraduate research focused on the electrodeposition and characterisation of cadmium zinc telluride (CdZnTe) thin films, investigating the influence of deposition conditions on their optoelectronic properties. Her broader research interests include materials physics, optoelectronic materials, renewable energy, and smart energy systems. She is particularly interested in developing her research experience in these fields.
Oluwafunmilayo currently works as a Project Support Engineer at WATT Renewables, where she supports projects related to renewable energy and solar power systems. Her work has provided her with practical exposure to energy project coordination and the application of renewable energy solutions.
Beyond research and professional work, she has experience in education, sustainability advocacy, leadership, and project coordination. She has contributed to initiatives promoting Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 13 (Climate Action), including educational outreach, environmental awareness, and sustainability projects. She has also participated in leadership and development programmes and supported initiatives focused on digital skills, youth development, and community engagement.
She is passionate about creating opportunities for young people through education, science, sustainability, and technology. Her long-term interests are advancing scientific research and contributing to practical solutions for sustainable energy and development challenges in Nigeria and beyond.
