Paula Cecilia Soto Ríos es Ingeniera Ambiental por la UMSA, con Maestría y Doctorado en Ciencias en la Universidad de Tohoku, Japón, gracias a la Beca MEXT. Su trabajo se centra en el tratamiento de aguas mediante ingeniería ecológica y en el desarrollo de biomateriales en el marco de la economía circular. Actualmente es docente, coordinadora de la Unidad de Posgrado y del área de Biotecnología y Bioprocesos de la UMSA, además de presidenta de OWSD-Bolivia y de los Miembros Gobernantes de IWA-Bolivia, desde donde impulsa soluciones sostenibles e innovadoras para la gestión del agua y la cooperación científica internacional.
Paula Cecilia Soto Ríos is an Environmental Engineer with a PhD from Tohoku University, Japan (MEXT scholar). She specializes in water treatment through ecological engineering and biomaterials within circular economy approaches. She is a professor at UMSA, coordinator of its Graduate Unit, and serves as president of OWSD-Bolivia and IWA-Bolivia Governing Members, promoting sustainable water management and international scientific cooperation.
