About me

Professor Bolanle Olaleye is an accomplished academic with more than 25 years of leadership in chemistry education, STEM innovation, and entrepreneurship development. She has risen through all academic ranks—from Lecturer III in 1999 to Full Professor—reflecting a distinguished career of teaching, research, mentorship, and institutional development. Professor Olaleye currently serves as the Director of the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development (DESD) at LASUED, where she champions student empowerment through the Enterprise Creation and Leadership (ECL) programmes. Her work focuses on equipping graduates to become innovators, entrepreneurs, and job creators.

Prof. Bolanle Omotoke OLALEYE is a Professor of Chemistry Education and Director for the Directorate of Entrepreneurship & Skill Development at Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) Oto/Ijanikin with a campus at Odo-Noforija, Epe, Lagos. Prof. Bolanle is passionate about developing and training students of higher learning and the unemployed in society through entrepreneurship and skills development projects. This is with the view of making students and people in the society self-reliant as well as reducing the unemployment rate in the country and more importantly, aimed to further contribute to teacher education activities and development of education particularly, in the University and in Lagos State, Nigeria generally. Prof. Bolanle is a certified entrepreneurship facilitator engaging in building the future leaders who will be able to stand against the tides of unemployment rate in the country, Nigeria. She has published articles in high-impact journals with high impact factors, and, Scopus and and Google Scholars index. She has served as a mentor to many students, both at the Master's and Ph.D levels nationally and at Edith Cowan University's (ECU) Western Australia, career Alumni Mentoring programme. Prof,. Bolanle was the Head of Department of Chemistry at legacy college for two consecutive periods, she was a board member for the Directorate Degree Programme of Ekiti State University (EKSU), and has equally occupied other various positions in the institution. Prof, Bolanle has received many prestigious awards and scholarships both at home and abroad. These include the Institute of Scholars Research Excellence Award (2024), the Endeavour International Post-Graduate Research Scholarship (EIPRS) and the Edith Cowan University International Scholarship (ECUIS) to pursue a PhD programme in Australia, Western Australia (2009). Other awards are the International Women’s Day award as the Winner of the Influential Women in Education in Nigeria, and Honorary Award by Asia Pacific Institute of Advanced Research in Sydney, Australia as Sessional Chair. Prof, Bolanle is a member of several professional bodies/learned associations, few amongst them are: Fellow member with a distinguished award of the Institute of Professional Entrepreneurs & Strategic Administrators of Nigeria (FIPESA), Fellow member of the Institute of Policy Management and Leadership Development (FIPMLD), Life member of the Institute of Scholars (LMINSC) of International Publishers, Affiliate member of IUPAC global world, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Science Teacher’s Association of Nigeria (STAN), Curriculum Organisation of Nigeria (CON), Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), and Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON). Others are Organisation of Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), Australian Science Education Research Association (ASERA), Western Australia Institute for Educational Research (WAIER), Fellow Member of Eudoxia Research University (FMERU) USA, Fellow Member of Eudoxia Research Centre (FMERC) India, Charter Member of Association of Cybersecurity Practitioners (CACSP) and International Professional Development Association (IPDA).
