Sara Ariana Molina Vargas is a Bolivian biologist. She completed her bachelor’s degree at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA). She served as an assistant at the Bolivian Fauna Collection and as a junior researcher with the Bolivian Herpetology Research Network during and after her studies. In 2024, she received a Campus France scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the Sorbonne University. She completed an internship with the Genetics and Evolution Laboratory at the Jacques Monod Institute in Paris. She also worked in the field of ecology, particularly on biogeographic data analysis of reptiles during her License thesis, and on Brazil nut trees during her professional internship at ACEAA-Amazon Conservation. She is a member of the Global Youth Biodiversity Network and organized events on scientific outreach and biodiversity policies within the Network, serving as co-general coordinator of the Bolivian Chapter for five years and during the COP15 of the CBD.
Sara Ariana Molina Vargas is a Bolivian biologist. In 2021 she completed her bachelor’s degree at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA). Her license thesis was in biogeography, and aimed to identify environmental variables related to the presence of endemic reptiles in Bolivia. She developed a similar biogeographic data analysis on Brazil nut trees in a professional intership at ACEAA-Amazon Conservation. She served as a teaching assistant at the Biology Department, as a research assistant at the Bolivian Fauna Collection and as a junior researcher with the Bolivian Herpetology Research Network during and after her studies. She was the academic secretary of the Scientific Society of Biology Students at the University. Sara is a member of the Global Youth Biodiversity Network, the official Youth Representation at the CBD, since 2019. She organized events on scientific outreach and biodiversity policies within the Network, serving as Co-General coordinator of the Bolivian Chapter between 2020 and 2024. She participated in the COP15 of the CBD. She completed a Diploma in Higher Education in 2022 and a Post-graduate course about design of studies in conservation biology and field ecology. In 2024, she received a French Government scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the Sorbonne University, with the "One Health" approach in the field of Microbiology. She completed an internship with the Genetics and Evolution Laboratory at the Jacques Monod Institute in Paris. He is currently writing an article about the study conducted on the Brazil nut forest trees in Bolivia.
