About me

Sociologist | Specialist in Gender and Social Policy | PhD Student

Hello! I'm Sara, a sociologist currently pursuing a PhD in Social Policy at the Universidade Federal de Viçosa in Brazil. My focus is on the sociology of care, exploring how care systems intersect with gender, social policy, and community practices.

I hold a Master's degree in Gender and Culture from the University of Chile and a Bachelor's in Sociology from the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH). These studies have shaped my understanding of social dynamics and informed my work in both academic and public policy settings.

Until December 2024, I served as Director of Public Policies for Development and Social Protection at the Ministry of Social Development in Honduras. During this time, I contributed to the design and implementation of policies addressing social protection and gender equity.

As an Assistant Professor at UNAH, I taught Sociology and Women's Studies, collaborating with students and colleagues to explore critical social issues. I have also worked with international organizations and led research projects, including consultancies focused on gender analysis and social inclusion.
