Dr. Azcarate is an accomplished teacher and researcher with extensive expertise in chemometrics and analytical chemistry, particularly applied to food analysis. She has been a researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) of Argentina since November 2018 and was promoted to adjunct researcher in 2022. Since September 2012, she has served as the head of practical work in the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences (FCEyN) of the National University of La Pampa (UNLPam). Since 2020, she has held the position of professor at the same institution. Her research interests focus on the development of multiplatform analytical methodologies, with an emphasis on untargeted analyses utilizing advanced spectroscopic techniques combined with chemometric approaches for multivariate classification and calibration. She also specializes in the implementation of data fusion strategies. Dr. Azcarate’s expertise includes assessing the integrity of raw materials, processed agri-food products, and environmental matrices through innovative approaches that ensure quality and safety in various contexts.
Dr. Azcarate obtained her degree in Chemistry from FCEyN-UNLPam in 2011. She completed her PhD at the Institute of Earth and Environmental Sciences of La Pampa (INCITAP-CONICET-UNLPam), obtaining her PhD in Chemistry from UNSL on February 17, 2016. With over 15 years of teaching experience, she has instructed both undergraduate and graduate courses. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with national and international research groups to develop chemometric methods for resolving complex multivariate data in a variety of applications. Her broad collaborative network is reflected in the numerous scientific papers she has published. From 2016 to 2018, Dr. Azcarate completed a two-year postdoctoral research stay at the Laboratory of Analytical Development and Chemometrics (LADAQ) at FBCB-UNL. As of 2025, Dr. Azcarate has an h-index of 20 and has published over 60 scientific papers in high-impact journals, including 7 book chapters.
